2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the German-language website safenorthseaenergy.com/de (the “Website”).

3. Purposes, legal bases, and data categories

3.1 Provision of the Website (server logs)

When you access the Website, we and/or our hosting provider process server log data (e.g., IP address, date/time, requested URL, referrer URL, user agent, status code) to provide the Website, ensure stability, and maintain IT security (e.g., attack mitigation).

Legal bases: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests) / Swiss nFADP (Art. 31). Logs are routinely deleted (generally within 7–30 days).

3.2 Content, navigation, multilingual features

We use Joomla and the Astroid Framework. Functional/session cookies may be set to ensure basic operation and security of the site.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a functional website). No consent is required for strictly necessary cookies.

3.3 Contact (email/form)

When you contact us, we process the information you provide (e.g., name, email, message) to handle your request and any follow-up communication.

Legal bases: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual/contractual communication) and/or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete the data after completing your request unless statutory retention periods apply.

4. Cookies & similar technologies

We use necessary cookies (e.g., Joomla session/CSRF cookies) required for the site’s basic functions. Optional/comfort/analytics cookies, if any, are used only with your consent.

  • Necessary: CMS session/CSRF cookies (lifetime: session/short-term).
  • Optional (if enabled): set only after consent and described separately.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser; this may limit functionality.

5. Embedded third-party services & content

5.1 Additional tools

If we introduce analytics or other third-party services in the future, we will update this Policy with the provider, data categories, retention and consent mechanism. Currently, we do not use analytics/tracking tools.

6. Recipients & processors

We use service providers (processors), e.g., hosting, email/IT services, CDNs. Where required, we have processor agreements in place (Art. 28 GDPR).

Hosting: [add provider/name and address] (please add server location, e.g., EU/CH).

7. International data transfers

For certain services, data may be transferred to third countries (notably the USA). Where applicable, we rely on adequacy decisions (e.g., EU-US/Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework) and/or Standard Contractual Clauses with supplementary safeguards.

8. Retention

We store personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law. Afterwards, data are deleted or anonymized.

9. Your rights

Within the limits of applicable law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and to object (Art. 21 GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time with future effect.

To exercise your rights:

10. Complaints
